AEP Promotes Tyremech Tyre Handling Machinery
Gwent-based, Aylward Engineering and Pneumatics is promoting its Tyremech tyre inspection bay as a way of complying with the latest EU manual handling legislation. Used to reduce operator effort during various manual inspection and retreading operations, the Tyremech TM206 80kg capacity tyre inspection bay has been developed to ergonomically hold a tyre casing whilst providing maximum access during retreading procedures.
Tyre casings are transported to the inspection bay via an overhead crane system. The operator then uses a simple push button and foot pedal to raise the tyre to a comfortable working height. Once at the optimum height, the casing can then be rotated both clockwise and anticlockwise and spread allowing easy access to the inside walls of the casing. In addition to the rotation capability, the casing can also be tilted left and right; ideal for procedures on the sidewall and bead.
Commenting on the performance of the inspection bays, Dave Harris, Managing Director at AEP says, “Traditionally tyres can move through up to four different work stations in many retreading plants. The TM206 is a one-man tyre inspection unit that helps increase productivity and dramatically reduces manual handling requirements.”
