Trelleborg Investing $20 Million in Sri Lanka Expansion
At present Trelleborg has an annual sales turnover exceeding Rs 7 billion (£33.1 million) in Sri Lanka, and operates two facilities – Trelleborg Lanka at Sapugaskanda and Trelleborg Wheel Systems Lanka. These two plants employ 925 workers and produce industrial tyres, mainly for export. Current capacity for the two facilities exceeds 560,000 units of resilient tyres, 60,000 units of POS and 550,000 pneumatic tyres. The reported expansion will increase this capacity by 50 per cent. The Hartville factory also manufactures industrial tyres and currently employs around 200 people, of whom about 115 are involved in production.
