Snap-on Release New Entry-Level Diagnostic Tool
Snap-on has announced the introduction of Ethos, its new entry level diagnostic tool. The Ethos is described as a compact, fast, accurate and versatile tool, designed for either the first time user or to complement existing competitive products. According to the manufacturer, Ethos has the same controls as the two other members of the Snap-on ‘family’ of diagnostic tools – Solus and Modis – and features a large easy to read display.
Ethos also includes onboard memory that allows the technician to store and retrieve details of the last 20 vehicles connected to, saving even more time when reconnecting to the vehicle to verify and confirm the repair. In addition, the CF (Compact Flash) medium can be used for data storage, now standard across the Snap-on ‘family’.
Like all members of the Snap-on ‘family’ of diagnostic tools Ethos can be updated via ScanBay, Snap-on’s system for allowing software downloads to be performed from any Snap-on Dealer van.
“We are delighted to welcome Ethos to our best selling ‘family’ of diagnostic tools,” says Terry Barcham, Managing Director of Snap-on Tools. “We believe that Ethos is the perfect new entry level diagnostic tool for today’s busy technician. This is the fastest-moving and most complex area of the automotive Aftermarket and we want to ensure that all our customers not only have access to the world’s most sophisticated award winning hand-held diagnostics, but also to realise how quick and easy they are to use and to update.”
