New Product Line Strategy From Kraiburg
Kraiburg Austria has reworked its range of compounds and, effective immediately, there will be three newly designed product lines: K_base, K_tech and K_plus.
The goal of the new product strategy is to meet the needs of the market as well as the requirements of customers by offering the right tread or compound combination for any use at high levels of quality. The three product lines are as follows:
All-round line K_base
The new all-round line K_base includes around 40 patterns that are tailored to each area of application – whether road/construction site or regional traffic – and it is orientated around a final mileage of up to 150,000 kilometres. Besides the two tried and proven quality compounds from the Kraiburg standard assortment, there is now a third, new compound in the K_base line. Consisting of 70 per cent natural and 30 percent synthetic rubber, it is ideal for permanently changing conditions of use. It has excellent resistance to wear with high resistance to cutting and tearing and the technical properties also makes it ideal for all climatic conditions.
Technology line K_tech
The focus of the 18 designs in this product range lies on the critical applications of trailers, series 60 tyres and winter patterns. The 100 per cent natural rubber compound has a low rolling resistance, a low glass transition temperature, a high cut and tear resistance. K_tech gives retreading companies tremendous potential operational reliability. Used on a trailer, the K_tech profile is ideal for low tyre volumes as well as high axle loads and operating temperatures combined with cross-loading. With Series 60, K_tech equally withstands limited performance reserves of casings, low diameters, enormous torque, and critical tyre pressures. And K_tech is ideal for winter performance.
Endurance premium line K_plus
The new premium line K_plus is the new Kraiburg endurance line. It has 13 highly specialised drive and winter treads for all trucks and buses, giving outstanding adherence and mileage – whether for long distance or regional traffic. Tests have shown that, depending on use, K_plus yields up to 25 per cent more mileage than the current Kraiburg high-performance compound Kplus 30. The newly designed special synthetic rubber compound consists of 70 per cent SBR* and 30 percent BR* (formerly 100 percent natural rubber). This makes K_plus an “endurance” line for all road-dependent applications with the primary demand being for high resistance to wear and high final mileage. Here, the high percentage of synthetic rubber has good adhesion in the wet through higher energy consumption in the higher frequency range; however it also has good mileage potential. The good rolling resistance level for a synthetic rubber compound is attributable to the K_plus profile, which is a combination of SBR and BR.
All K_plus designs are also available as a K_base or K_tech compound. The patterns for trailers and series 60 tyres are offered exclusively with the K_tech compounds. Says Michael Schwämmlein, manager of technical service, plant engineering and product range policies at Kraiburg Austria: “With the quality level of our three new product lines, we differentiate ourselves even more than before from the low-price providers in the retreading sector. At the same time, we are drawing closer to the products of new tyre manufacturers and are therefore positioning ourselves clearly in the top league.”
Since customers get the right pattern for any application, they have a clear increase of performance with K_base, K_tech, and K_plus. Of course, Kraiburg’s partners can still order the company’s tried and tested hot-cure compounds and the high levels of service are maintained.
