Dunlop Celebrates Motorsport Results at Autosport
Dunlop will be celebrating its 2007 motorsport successes, and unveiling important new motorsport contracts at the Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre on Thursday. When the show opens at the NEC, the company’s key stand means that once again, the iconic Dunlop bridge will be the first thing that the predicted 100,000 visitors will see when they enter Hall 9. Dunlop design, develop and manufacture motorsport tyres at Fort Dunlop in Birmingham, and in 2007 were victorious in international Superbike racing, 125cc and 250cc Grand Prix motorcycle racing. On four wheels, Dunlop is the choice for touring car championships around the world, with success in the British, German and Australian national championships.
At Autosport International, Dunlop will be announcing two new contracts. The HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship has committed to running exclusively on Dunlop for the next three years, and the new UK GT Cup, for supercars such as Ferraris and Porsches, will use Dunlop tyres on all cars for their inaugural season.
Dunlop will also be unveiling the new Dunlop Sport Maxx TT high performance road tyre at the show. This innovative new tyre uses advanced materials such as Kevlar to deliver responsive and precise steering feedback.
“Autosport International is a showcase for the latest technology being developed for motorsport. Our international victories on both two wheels and four wheels are evidence of Dunlop’s state-of-the-art technology translating into successful results in the toughest proving ground of professional motorsport. In addition, the latest Dunlop Sport Maxx TT applies the lessons learned in racing to our road tyres” stated James Bailey, Corporate Communications Manager.
