Marangoni Mythos Wins Australian Tyre Test
The Marangoni Mythos UHP has come top in a tyre test conducted by Australia’s Motor Magazine. The success in the magazine comparison test comes just a year after the Marangoni new tyre brand was launched in the Australian market. Competing tyres tested included: Bridgestone Potenza RE050; Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3; Falken FK 452; Dunlop SP Sport Maxx and Maxxis MA-Z1. Motor’s test driver commented: “These [Mythos tyres] had a tonne of grip. They were sharp, balanced; really nice. In fact, they were so confidence-inspiring that you really didn’t mind having a hot go with them, because you knew they’d hang in there. They were also great on change of direction and super stable under brakes. I like them a lot.”
Marangoni Tyre’s exclusive Australian distributor, Tyre Corp reportedly rushed a message to all Marangoni Master Dealers informing them of the win. John Pearson, managing director Tyre Corp, commented: “We are absolutely delighted to win this major award against top international brands. Our trade and retail customers alike are recognising Marangoni as a real alternative to brands like Pirelli and Michelin.”
Derek Carruthers, Marangoni (Car Tyre Division) sales & marketing director added: “The Motor Magazine result confirms Marangoni’s expertise in the UHP sector and its growth as a major international brand. The response in Australia has been immense and the increased exposure is indicative of both the awareness of the brand and the sales growth we are achieving. There is no doubt that positive positioning through tuning and competition success has a huge impact in building Marangoni’s media profile and brand awareness, which translates directly into sales. This applies as much to Europe as it does to Australia. Certainly, for UK Intelligence Centres and Retailers, such positive promotion of both Mythos and Zeta Linea within the UHP sector has to be the promotional basis for developing Marangoni sales throughout 2008.”
