Trelleborg TM800 Line Now “D-Rated”
Trelleborg Wheel system’s Research & Development department has announced that its TM800 line is now D rated, allowing the agricultural tyres to be driven at speeds of up to 65km/h. In addition the TM800 range is said to offers increased productivity compared with its main competitors, resulting in “consistent savings for agricultural professionals.”
According to the company, ploughing tests show that, under the same conditions and using the same size, Trelleborg tyres proved to reduce slippage and working time per hectare compared with unnamed “main competitors.” After a week of tests in medium-high severity conditions, the TM800 (in 650/65R38 – the most popular size in the segment) fitted to a 165 horsepower tractor with three ploughshare reported: up to 4.2 per cent more traction fuel consumption. According to the company this factor alone, at an average working cost per hour of 50 euros and a fuel cost of 0.85 euros per litre, saved between up to 120 euros compared with other leading brands.
Now that the whole TM800 line is “D” rated and therefore able to reach 65km/h on the road at a nominal pressure of 1.6 bar. The TM800 line now allows farmers and contractors to quickly and efficiently get between jobs. And once again the manufacturer claims that with this increased speed performance comes lower fuel consumption characteristics compared to competitors.
According to official Trelleborg information, the TM800 (650/65R38) saves up to 62 euros (at 0.85 euros a litres) and up to 72.5 litres of fuel a week. “As a result, the TM800 with its cost savings, even under severe working conditions, means that the Trelleborg tyre pays for itself and represents a long term profitable investment,” company representatives told Tyres & Accessories.
Keep it clean
The tyre’s design also means it provides particularly good self cleaning and comfort properties, according to the manufacturer. The tread, which is a unique characteristic of the entire Trelleborg TM range, gives the TM800 excellent self-cleaning features at any inflation pressure. As a result, the tyre is said to clean itself after only one revolution. The high quality driving stability of the TM800, even in the harshest working conditions, is said to provide improved handling of the tractor and, for the driver, better conditions in terms of health and safety at work.
