New Members Join TyreSafe
Tyre distributor, Yokohama H.P.T. Limited, tyre wholesaler, Group Tyre (UK) Limited and the manufacturer of tyre inflation equipment, Pneumatic Components Limited (PCL), have all agreed to become TyreSafe supporters in 2008, joining the original 14 tyre companies and retailers responsible for forming the organisation at the start of this year.
“We have achieved a great deal in our first year of activity,” said TyreSafe chairman Rob Beddis. “I welcome our new supporters who will, I am sure, make a valuable contribution to the work of TyreSafe in the coming year.”
Managing director of Group Tyre (UK) Limited, Peter Harries said: “We have watched closely the work of TyreSafe in its first year and have been impressed with the progress the organisation has made in raising the awareness of this important subject. We are very pleased to become a supporter, and we look forward to making our contribution to the work of TyreSafe.”
Yokohama managing director David Seward also expressed support for TyreSafe. “Tyre safety is becoming an increasingly important subject. Yokohama has always supported industry initiatives to promote safer tyre use. As a consequence, we are happy to become an active TyreSafe supporter.”
PCL will become the first non tyre company or retailer to support TyreSafe. Director Simon Shorter said: “We were very impressed with the work of TyreSafe during tyre safety month this year and in particular the focus on tyre pressures – a subject close to our heart. Pledging support for TyreSafe reflects our commitment to promoting the safety and environmental benefits of having correct tyre pressures. We look forward to working with TyreSafe.”
