HiQ Marks Tyre Safety Month with Award Winning Tyres

Fast fit specialist HiQ is marking national Tyre Safety Month by stocking two award winning tyres that have been proven to improve safety in the wet and dramatically cut stopping distances. The Goodyear HydraGrip has been awarded ‘Best Buy’ by Auto Express magazine in the family car tyre market, whilst the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric was the overall winner in the Evo magazine ultra-high performance tyre category.

“The Goodyear HydraGrip is an extremely popular tyre and for it to be named as the best tyre in such a competitive category really does show that it is one of the leading brands for drivers of family cars,’ comments Nikki McCluney, HiQ marketing manager. “Whilst for high performance car drivers, the Eagle F1Asymetric has been shown to perform better in terms of handling and stopping than other leading tyres in this category.”

The Auto Express test is the UK’s largest independent comparison test of tyre performance, and safety and Evo magazine’s comprehensive test compared nine leading brands of tyre. The Hydragrip demonstrated consistent strong performance in all areas, notably in wet cornering, where in one particular test it had an incredible 15 per cent more grip than any other tyre tested and a notable 49 per cent more grip than one other popular brand. The Evo test further found that the Goodyear tyre’s braking distance from 55 mph was a considerable 12.5 metres less than the worst performing tyre – the equivalent of two and a half car lengths.
