Vredestein Introduces New Run-Flat Sizes In USA
(Akron/Tyre Review) Vredestein North America has introduced the new run-flat versions of its Vredestein Quatrac 3 and Wintrac Xtreme lines.
The all-new Quatrac 3 is an all-season radial with an asymmetric, non-directional tread design, which Vredestein says is the “first all-season run-flat tyre.”
Vredestein tyres with run-flat technology feature an additional reinforcement in the sidewall and a strengthened bead construction, the company says. If they lose air pressure, Vredestein said the tyres can be driven at speeds up to 80 km/hr for up to 80 kilometres.
The Quatrac 3 has an inner and outer tread face, with the outer part designed for optimized wet and dry performance, and the inner section designed for winter conditions, the company said. The Quatrac 3 will be available this October in V-rated sizes 195/55R16 and 205/55R16.
Vredestein’s Wintrac Xtreme will see the addition of four run-flat sizes: 205/55R16 91 H, 205/45R17 84 V, 225/45R17 91 V and 225/50R17 94 H.
