Michelin Steer Axle Tyre Provides 10% More Grip
Michelin has launched the replacement to its XFN+ steer axle truck tyre. Called the XFN2+, in its 315/80 R 22.5 guise the new arrival is said to offer up to 10 per cent more grip than its predecessor, prompting the French tyre major to comment that a ‘new level of safety’ has been reached by its new product.
This latest arrival to the Grip tyre range combines two Michelin technologies – the patented transversal/longitudinal cross-sipe technology to deliver up to 10 per cent more grip in curbs on wet, snowy surfaces, and the double-wave, mid-depth sipe to provide a 5 per cent improvement in braking and up to 15 per cent more mileage. The convergence of these two technologies makes the new XFN2 + suitable for a wide range of uses, including wood transport, wholesale delivery, general haulage and temperature-controlled transport.
It has also been announced that the new tyre will soon be retreadable in Michelin Remix.
