Changers, Balancers and More
It remains business as usual for Nottingham based leading automotive and service equipment specialists Beissbarth following the company’s acquisition by Bosch in April, and the established Beissbarth range of products continue to find favour with UK customers.
Introduced in 2006, the company’s latest addition to their tyre changing line up is the MS67 tyre changer for low profile, run-flat tyres and wide rims, and Beissbarth say this is a unit that offers safe and simple tyre changing, even for the most difficult tyre rim combinations. The Servomat MS67 tyre changer has been designed to meet our ubiquitous health and safety regulations while providing a fast and efficient service for technicians and customers.
“Tyre changing is no longer a simple operation. A bit more care and attention is involved,” commented a member of the Beissbarth team that Tyres & Accessories spoke to. Those involved in the business will be well and truly aware of this; many changes, both in terms of tyre technology and official legislation, have impacted the tyre industry. With Health and Safety taking an increasingly humourless approach to the lifting of heavy objects in the workplace, a key safety feature built into the MS67 is a definite bonus. The unit comes equipped with a pneumatic lift that raises the tyre onto the table without the fitter having to lift the heavy wheel and tyre assembly. This ensures that the manual handling of tyre and wheel assemblies is kept to a minimum.
A fast and precise hydraulic unit sees to the simultaneous breaking of both beads, even on the most awkward of run-flat tyres. And the MS67’s central control unit ensures easy handling, and wheel clamping is made simple by the unit’s centring flange. A quick air filler and profiled mounting lever both come included in the unit’s standard delivery package.
The MS67 is Beissbarth’s top of the range passenger car tyre changer, and as such represents the sum total of the company’s development in this area. “There’s no doubt that Beissbarth’s commitment to investing in ongoing research and development enables us to offer outstanding products, set new standards, utilise best practice and deliver the finest technology in tyre-changers,” said Beissbarth UK’s managing director, Philip Hodges, adding: “We are confident that within the Servomat series there is a tyre changer to suit all businesses, whatever their size. Investing in the best available technology is the surest route to increase efficiency, retain customers and maximise profits.”
Beissbarth report positive sales of their tyre changing range, including the MS65 OR.RAC changer, suitable for rims up to 26-inch in diameter, which the company state is “finding favour from dealers involved in run-flats.” News coming from within Beissbarth also indicates that a new model tyre changer is due for release in the near future, however the company was unable to provide any additional details before the August issue of Tyres & Accessories was printed.
Over the years Beissbarth has been responsible for a number of product innovations in the field of wheel balancing technology. At present the company offers a range of ten Microtec easy use wheel balancers ranging from a low-price introductory model, designed for a middle operational capacity rate of steel and light alloy wheels, to the ultimate fully computerised wheel balancing system. Robust and easy to operate, the Microtec range has the features to meet the needs of virtually any workshop.
Of course there is much more to the Beissbarth range than just tyre changers and wheel balancers – the company is perhaps best known at the moment for its wheel alignment technology. However the well known ‘Touchless’ system is just one alignment product the company offers, and when speaking to T&A the people at Beissbarth mentioned the success being enjoyed by other models in their alignment range. One model referred to was the ML Easy 8, a unit the company believe well suited to workshops and tyre chains who carry out a large amount of alignments each day and place high value on simplicity, speed and accuracy. “We consider it a great accolade that SEAT and RML have chosen Beissbarth wheel aligner technology,” Mr. Hodges commented. “Beissbarth has unparalleled expertise in wheel alignment. The Microline Easy is the finest example of technical superiority combined with the best user friendly approach to design.”
