Pneu-Logic Partners with Goodyear Dunlop in EFM Deal
Derbyshire based Pneu-Logic Ltd., now a subsidiary of Advanced ID Corporation, has entered into a strategic partnership with Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK to provide Pneu-Logic Fleet Management System (EFM) products in the United Kingdom under the Goodyear Dunlop brand name. This latest agreement reflects Advanced ID’s current global activities, which has seen the company present Goodyear Dunlop EFM in Europe, the US and Australia. Advanced ID also report that they have received strong signs of interest from Asia and the Middle East.
According to a Goodyear Dunlop press release from the recent CV show in Birmingham, “Goodyear Dunlop EFM is a result of the strategic partnership with Pneu-Logic, manufacturers of hardware and software solutions for transport operators. Goodyear Dunlop UK began using Pneu-Logic equipment in 2006, and following the success of the initial trial, the tyre giant has chosen to launch a version of the system under its own brand name, tailored for the specific needs of Goodyear Dunlop customers.” The tyremaker intends to use these units in the UK and across Europe to collect tyre tread and pressure data from vehicles on their key fleets.
Dan Finch, president of Advanced ID, who attended the CV Show where EFM was launched, says, “We are committed to the Goodyear Dunlop EFM system and we will cooperate in every way ensure its success. With EFM product sales already exceeding US$100 thousand in the last several months and the forecast over the next year approaching $1.5 million in all countries, clearly Goodyear Dunlop is one of our most important strategic partnerships.”
Laren Yeomans, managing director of Pneu-Logic, added, “Dunlop Goodyear have quickly become the industry leaders in tire data collection for fleet inspections and performance monitoring. The introduction of EFM only goes to show the commitment Dunlop Goodyear is putting into its casing management program, thus delivering a ‘best in class’ service to its customers. With the fully supported roll-out of EFM not only throughout the UK and Europe, but also the US, Australia and South East Asia, Dunlop Goodyear will quickly become world leaders in this field. With the integration of the Advanced ID UHF technologies and further enhancements in the Pneu-Logic tools, Dunlop Goodyear will be offering a completely collaborative tyre casing system.”
Goodyear Dunlop EFM provides an accurate pressure and depth reading and removes the potential for human error occurring through manually transferring data from paper to computer. The system’s wireless functionality is combined with Bluetooth technology to allow seamless integration with Goodyear Dunlop’s data warehouse system. The process is internet based, can deliver fleet information in ‘real time’, and allows Goodyear Dunlop and their fleet customers to view tyre data online.
“The accuracy of this system was proven in our trials last year, and the combination of Goodyear Dunlop’s industry leading fleet management experience and the EFM product’s Bluetooth technology will provide a real benefit for our customers,” stated Travis Brown, Goodyear Dunlop UK marketing manager, Truck Tyres.
“Goodyear Dunlop has the most comprehensive truck and bus tyre supporting infrastructure in the European tyre industry. EFM will offer the highest levels of accuracy and tyre optimisation in the industry. This, combined with our ActionLine roadside assistance and FleetOnlineSolutions Internet management system, means that Goodyear Dunlop are offering highly advanced management solutions to our customers,” Brown added.
