News Sprinters For ATSE
ATS Euromaster is in the process of taking delivery of 25 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters for its mobile car and van tyre fitting fleet – one of the largest of the nationwide fast-fit networks in the UK. According to the company, the move marks the arrival of a new breed of mobile service van, incorporating an array of features designed to help staff maximise both productivity and safety.
Tim Richards, Group Vehicle and Equipment Manager at ATS Euromaster, explains: “We asked everyone who uses the vehicles for their recommendations, with the end result being a specification which marks a major step forward in mobile working. One of the major benefits is a more spacious interior layout with the addition of better storage facilitie…these vehicles also feature the most modern fitting and balancing machines available on the market.”
Each of the Sprinter 311 CDI’s benefit from ABS and ESP as standard and have been fitted with LED lights and a roof-mounted light-bar to ensure maximum visibility. Inside each vehicle the load space has been customised to include adjustable aluminium racking, plastic storage boxes (for the safe storage of paperwork) and a Butler Classic fitting machine incorporating rubber pads to ensure delicate handling of even the largest alloy wheels.
The on-board equipment also includes a lightweight aluminium trolley jack and axle stands, designed to be easily lifted in and out of the vehicle, together with air jacks, alignment gauge, safety cones, waste bin and a warm-water hand wash.
Each vehicle in the ATS Euromaster fleet is designed for a specific application, with the 25 Sprinters being joined in 2007 by 70 panel vans tailored specifically for mobile truck tyre servicing and five equipped with solid presses, for supporting forklift truck fleets. It will also include 25 car-derived panel vans for use by the company’s Fleet Inspectors, together with 35 chassis cabs mounted with flatbed bodies, for servicing commercial vehicle and agricultural fleets.
