NETE Names Gavin Marshall as New Managing Director
After providing more a decade of leadership that has generated impressive growth, Ian Darcy has passed the Mantle of North Eastern Tyre & Exhausts managing director onto Gavin Marshall. Ian Darcy will continue in the new role of Business Development Director.
Part of “phase two” of an ongoing growth plan, the company also has plans to open a new location. Scheduled to open in January 2008, the new Knaresbrough site will employ around 20 people, provide 4000 square metres of retails space and store over 20,000 tyres for wholesale distribution.
“Gavin and I have worked closely together for over 10 years and I know he is the right person to provide stability and direction for the next decade of our success. On my part I am delighted to have the opportunity to focus and lead our expansion programme in Knaresbrough,” Ian Darcy commented.
Founded by Fred and Netta Darcy the company still has that North East family feel about it with three generations of Darcy’s now on the board. Ian Darcy continued: “We’re a family business but above all we are a professional business and we look for the best people. Our board is balance with family and non-family directors and we’re all delighted with the changes we have made.”
Gavin Marshall is equally upbeat: “This is a defining moment in my career and one that I am proud and delighted to accept. It is probably the finest compliment I have even been paid. For the Darcy family to place their trust in me to manage their business at such a dynamic time in the company’s history is hugely flattering. We have a clear plan of where we want to be in four years time, and we have the most talented and driven people in the industry to help us get there. I am fully focused and ready to help our people manage the exciting period of growth.”
