Set on a hi-tech display stand that not only makes a fashion statement, but also reinforces the fact that the shop in question is at the cutting edge of the latest global phenomenon, the new Interactive Display Module is operated at the touch of a button via an advanced touch screen option. Easy to drive and fun to explore, it provides customers and motoring enthusiasts with exciting footage and plenty of information. Take the Land Speed Record for example. Here, customers are provided with the full story behind the record-breaking run, thereby demonstrating the outstanding performance of the SP Sport 7000D.

Moving onto the tyre range, dealers can equip their customers with vital information and be able to make visual recommendations on suitable tyre application, features, benefits and sizes. Alternatively, the customer is welcome to browse the display module unaided – perhaps to find a tyre for the family car.

The module also includes dynamic video advertisements of Dunlop’s locally produced ultra-high performance tyres. For customers who want to know more about tyres and how they are made, this option is also available for them to tap into.

The interactive retail experience is an exciting first for South Africa and a real breakthrough for Dunlop.

GOODYEAR SA APPOINTED SOLE SUPPLIER FOR GMSA HUMMER
The tough tyres that carry General Motors’ locally produced super-macho Hummer H3 through rocky riverbeds and over busy city highways will all be locally produced Goodyear Wranglers.

“This tyre is a first for our plant – the appointed Wrangler is an additional size to the lineup produced at Goodyear’s plant in Uitenhage,” said Norman Newcombe, Goodyear’s National Manager Original Equipment. “It has come at a substantial investment in equipment and in training. In fact, the local manufacturing process incorporates the world’s most advanced technology.

“Goodyear South Africa’s factory in Uitenhage, is one of only two plants in the world to manufacture this tyre,” continued Newcombe, “the P265/R16 Wrangler RT/S – and we are thrilled that our has been selected.”

‘P ZERO THE HERO’ – PIRELLI’S NEW ANSWER FOR SUPERCARS
In the centenary of the firm’s involvement in motorsport, the most technologically advanced product to come out of Pirelli research, heralded as a revolution for the tyre industry, is about to be launched.

Making its worldwide premier on the track in Dubai, with a brand new tread pattern, futuristic compounds and an innovative structure, the new product – the fruit of 24 months of development and testing – is protected by no less than five patents.

Designed to manage the power of the hottest and most extreme cars, the new ‘P Zero the Hero’ has already been chosen and homologated by manufacturers for the most recent and high performance GT cars.

Features
The principal feature of the P Zero the Hero says Pirelli is that it guarantees optimum performance in wet or dry conditions throughout the lifetime of the tyre, while combining sports handling with comfort. In fact, the new P Zero boasts special nano-composites in the compounds of the tread and the bead that guarantee a comfortable ride together with sports performance. Thanks specifically to the tread compound, optimum performance is even provided during the first few kilometers when the tyre is still cold.

And thanks to the Hy.Co (Hybrid Cord) system, the carcass allows the deformation of the tyre profile to be controlled through to the highest speeds (370kph), increasing the durability of the tyre, not simply in terms of outright mileage, but above all, in the consistency of performance throughout its life.

Allegedly, the innovative tread pattern of the new Pirelli tyre also permits the highest standards of grip in wet conditions and acoustic comfort to be enhanced, while the asymmetric DA.Co (Dynamic Asymmetric Contour) profile ensures even wear with a consistent footprint at all speeds.

Moreover, P Zero the Hero has been designed with the utmost respect for the environment, with the compounds used containing no aromatic oils.
