Bridgestone Makes Senior Management Changes
Bridgestone Corporation announced on June 27 that its board of directors has given approval to a number of proposed changes to board members and corporate officers. The changes to board member position and responsibilities, effective as of June 29, are as follows:
– Masaharu Oku: Oku’s new position is that of vice president and senior officer, and he will continue in the role of member of the board responsible for production technology. Mr. Oku will discontinue his present position as director of the Raw Material Manufacturing Engineering Development Division.
Changes to the position and responsibilities of corporate officers, effective as of July 1, are as follows:
– Masaaki Tsuya: Tsuya, currently vice president and officer for the Office of Group CEO, Human Resources and Corporate Communications, will become vice president and officer, Office of Group CEO, Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications. Tsuya will continue as director of Internal Auditing Office, Internal Control Division, Human Resources Division.
– Masayuki Okabe: Currently serving as vice president and officer, General Affairs, Legal Affairs and Intellectual Property, as of July 1 Okabe’s position will become vice president and officer, General Affairs and Intellectual Property. Okabe will continue as director of the General Affairs and Labor Relations Division.
