Goodyear To Launch UHP All Season Addition to Eagle Range
Goodyear has announced the imminent release of the newest addition to its Eagle tyre range. The latest offering, the UHP Eagle F1 all season tyre, will be launched this summer, with consumer availability likely from July.
The Eagle F1 All Season has been designed build on the advantages of a traditional UHP tyre by offering improved snow and rain traction, which it achieves through a combination of tread design and sidewall construction, in addition to choice of compound. The tyre’s inner and outer sidewalls are reinforced with carbon fibre, providing sidewall stiffness that serves to maximise the area of making contact with the road during hard cornering.
Goodyear emphasise the importance of the tyre’s tread in providing performance and safety. “The Eagle F1 All Season lets enthusiasts experience the thrill of driving their sports cars all year long,” said Bob Toth, Goodyear’s marketing manager, Auto Tires. “When it’s wet traction you’re looking for, look to this tyre’s all season zone comprised of aquachutes to help clear water from beneath the tread for enhanced grip on wet roads.” The tread, which features a continuous centre rib and shoulder blocks the manufacturer describes as “aggressive.” In addition the tread comes with Goodyear’s patented TredLock(TM) technology, made up of a series of cups and domes between the tread grooves. According to Goodyear, the cups and domes lock the tread elements together to provide the tread with additional stiffness during cornering.
Mr. Toth added: “The Eagle F1 line of ultra-high performance tyres is synonymous with precise control, crisp handling and effective dry traction. The award-winning Eagle F1 GS-D3 brought these performance attributes to wet roads. And now, the new Eagle F1 All Season completes the circle by offering traction on dry, wet and snow-covered roads.”
To keep the Eagle F1 All Season looking good Goodyear has utlised its patented PermaBlack compound, a substance the manufacturer claims will keep the tyre’s sidewall looking new throughout its entire life. With numerous products from Eagle range available in the UK, it is feasible that the Eagle F1 All Season may join the local line-up. However as yet no indication has been made as to if and when this would occur.
