New Website and Focus for Alcar
Following the success of last year’s end user advertising campaign with the BSA brand, Kent based wheel distributors Alcar Wheelright Ltd are focusing on their house brand Dotz during 2007. Having introduced seven new styles, including unveiling of the new ‘dull anodised’ finishes on its ‘Radium’ and ‘Roadster’ ranges, Alcar will embark on an end user and trade advertising campaign to push home the company’s re-focus on the Dotz brand. In addition to passenger car wheels, Dotz has released its first wheel dedicated purely to the SUV market. The ‘Omega’ is available only in a 22-inch size and Alcar report the wheel is already developing a lot of interest within the SUV market sector.
Dotz plans to increase it presence not only through advertisements in major retail and trade magazines – it is heading online with an increased web presence. Dotz has updated its website www.alcar.co.uk, which now includes a trade only ‘members’ area that provides a range of information including downloadable price lists, web and print quality images of wheels, special offers and technical information. Also in the members area is a ‘Webshop’, providing a 24/7 online stock checking and ordering system, directly linked with Alcar’s computerised stock control system. Webshop allows Alcar customers to check stock in real time and place orders at their convenience.
This year Alcar boasts 11 new designs and finishes from their supplier portfolio, including the top end 3-piece ‘Nemesis’ wheel from AEZ, available in 19 to 22-inch sizes and featuring an electroplated outer rim and five claw-like spokes with a titanium coloured star hub. The attention-grabbing Nemesis is a wheel that would look very much at home on many of today’s supercars. Alcar also have something for those who like to take their vehicle off-road, with new offerings from the Italian-made ‘Dakar’ off road steel wheel range. Dakar is available in 15 and 16-inch sizes and covers most traditional 4×4 vehicles, including Land Rover.
