MRF Chooses SAP to Provide Software Solutions
Indian tyre major MRF Ltd has chosen business solutions provider SAP to provide assistance in its efforts to enhance its global operations through the company’s ‘SAP for Automotive’ set of solutions, which includes enterprise resource planning and customer resource management software.
As a company exporting to more than 75 countries MRF needs to be prepared for fluctuations in the global supply and demand of everything from raw materials to finished products while still meeting strict shipment deadlines. Furthermore, in the increasingly competitive global tyre market, it is essential that tyremakers such as MRF be able to timely monitor and respond to competitor’s pricing and special offers. By using SAP MRF will be able to seamlessly integrate logistical and financial data, eliminating redundant work and saving time and operational costs.
“We selected SAP after a detailed evaluation process,” said Prince Azariah, MRF Ltd’s chief information officer. “SAP came out on top in terms of product superiority, post sales support, record customer satisfaction and we’re confident that taking advantage of SAP’s enterprise SOA product roadmap would be a strategic decision supporting our plans for continued growth.”
MRF will implement SAP solutions at its six global manufacturing plants and 100 sales offices, including the company headquarters in Bangalore. “SAP is proud to be chosen as the catalyst for MRF’s transformation journey,” said Günter Lasser, director of SAP’s Automotive Business Unit. “With SAP for Automotive solutions and SAP NetWeaver as the platform for collaboration, SAP will provide MRF the best-suited solutions to enable innovation, deliver better value at lower costs with a broad range of best practices in the industry.”
SAP claim that every major Indian tyremaker now employs SAP solutions within their enterprises.
