Alaskan Studded Tyre Season Extended
Alaska’s Department of Public Safety has extended the studded tyre season for two weeks because of poor driving conditions around the state. The order makes it legal to use studded tyres until 29 April on roads south of 60 Degrees North Latitude. Motorists who live north of that have until 15 May to remove studded tyres. Anyone who doesn’t change their tyres by the relevant deadline could be subject to a $50 fine from a state trooper.
