Prema to Expand into Ireland
Describing 2006 as a “another tough yet successful year for Harvie,” managing director, Terry Brooks has explained that pressures from Chinese balance weight imports and more aggressive competition have not stopped the company from growing and investing in two new salesmen.
In the last year Harvie has grown its fleet of vans to 12 and boasts full UK coverage. Plans to enter the Irish market are underway and a new salesman for the north based in Belfast will start later this year. Negotiations with 2 possible agents based in Dublin in the south are said to be “advancing.”
Harvie representatives report that the company has hit the ground running this year. Winning incremental new business has reportedly led to a 30 per cent increase in sales during the same period in 2006. Harvie plans to increase company profile by advertising more regularly and are exhibiting at the UK Brityrex exhibition at the Manchester G-Mex centre in early May.
As of 1 March Mark Prince assumed the role of National Sales Manager. “This new position of responsibility together with Mark’s skill and dedication will add significantly to a drive for further market share and will assist the sales team in meeting individual targets for 2007,” Brooks commented, adding: “Mark was successful in quickly finding a replacement to take over his area in the South West and Wales and John Mossemenear took up his new position on 12 February.”
Harvie’s 2007 sales conference included presentations from Chicago Pneumatic, Haweka and Trax and was hosted at Pro-Align’s headquarters.
