Love and Lottery Tickets
The British, it seems, have two passions: romance and gambling. A survey commissioned by the German tyremaker Fulda shows that 66 per cent of British people claim that they would take their partner out for a romantic dinner if they were given an extra £50 to spend a year, while 11 per cent said they would spend the extra money on lottery tickets.
The UK is not the only country that values time spent with loved ones – Germany, Italy, and Spain all opted for the romantic meal, but no other country came close to the UK when given the option to buy scratch cards!
Respondents from five European nations were asked what they would do with an extra £50, which is the amount the company claims can be saved in fuel consumption per year by fitting Fulda’s EcoControl tyres. Fulda states that the silica compound used in the newly launched tyre enables this level of fuel saving through reduced rolling resistance. It is further claimed that the EcoControl’s tread depth makes the tyre up to 20 per cent more durable than its predecessor.
According to Lisa Davison, Fulda Communications Specialist: “The EcoControl represents an excellent combination of value and quality. It saves on fuel and is durable and reliable in all driving conditions.” She added that the Fulda is a brand for “smart buyers” who “are very conscious about their choices and clearly decide where they want to invest more or less money.
“As far as tyres are concerned, they are not prepared to compromise on any aspects of their safety but keep an eye on price, therefore demanding superior quality products that represent excellent value for money. Fulda has ensured that the research and development that goes into the EcoControl tyre gives results that satisfy all of these exacting criteria, making the EcoControl tyre a first choice for the smart buyers.”
