Dunlop Signs UK Motorsport TV Deal
Dunlop Tyres has announced their entry into a new television deal with motorsport programming producer Greenlight TV that will see the BACR/Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup broadcast on Sky Sports and Motors TV. This is seen as a substantial boost for the inaugural season of this series, for which 11 confirmed drivers have already registered.
The Greenlight TV deal will cover at least five of the six BARC/Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup rounds and offer viewers in-depth race action. Sky Sports will feature the Cup in a 90-minute show with highlights from the Dunlop Great & British Festivals to a potential audience of 8 million homes across the UK and Ireland. The Europe-wide Motors TV network, which reaches over 15 million homes across the continent, is to dedicate a half-hour show to the Cup. In addition, coverage from the Dunlop Great & British Festivals will be shown on networks worldwide.
According to Dunlop’s Lisa Davison, “The latest announcement that television coverage is to increase for 2007 is an exciting new development for the inaugural season of the BARC / Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup. The new deal will provide rare opportunities to see contemporary cars going head-to-head, on a fully televised promoted race package.”
The Dunlop Great & British Festivals feature some of the UK’s biggest championships – the Mini Challenge, the Radical Biduro Championships, the Radical Enduro Championships and the Playstation2 Ginetta Junior Championships.
