Waste Processing Booming for BMH
The environmental division of BMH Wood Technology Oy has sold the world’s largest tyre shredder to a company in the UK. In July 2007 BMH will deliver a Tyrannosaurus plant to Credential Automotive Ltd. The plant will be able to process around 70,000 tonnes of used car tyres into shreds of approx. 60 mm in size each year. According to the company, the amount represents approx. 20 per cent of all used car tyres in the U.K.
The line capacity is 20 tonnes per hour, corresponding to approximately 3,000 car tyres in an hour. Part of the tyre chips will be delivered to a cryogenic process, where the tyre chips are frozen in liquid nitrogen and crushed further down to approx. 2 mm size. The plant will process the tyres from whole to 60mm chip in a single pass. The Tyrannosaurus shredder is also capable of shredding C&D, MSW as well as all commercial and industrial wastes. The Tyrannosaurus is central to all the Plants including Bio Mass and RDF production.
Secondary crusher to Lassila & Tikanoja Oyj
Lassila & Tikanoja Oyj (L&T), a publicly listed Finland-based company, has ordered a large fine crusher Monster from BMH. L&T has been operating a BMH Waste-to-Fuel Plant processing commercial and industrial waste into high-grade fuels for power plants for over a year now. With the new investment L&T will be able to produce also fuel with small particle size of approx. 25 mm that is suitable for firing in cement kilns. The process is the first of its kind in Finland.
Complete waste treatment plant to Poland
BMH Enviro’s success story in the waste treatment and recycling business is evidenced by the recent contract for the supply of an extensive turn-key waste processing plant to Poland. The plant will process industrial and commercial waste, municipal waste, construction and demolition waste, wood waste furniture and other bulky materials into fine fraction fuel for burning in cement kilns. The plant to be delivered will be complete including a material receiving table, a Tyrannosaurus crusher, ferrous and non-ferrous separation & fines screening equipment, a Tornado air-classifier and a Monster fine crusher to process the light fraction coming from the air-classifier.
First delivery to Holland
The installation of an extensive waste processing plant near Enschede in Holland is reaching the final phase. The operator of the plant is a Haaksbergen-based company Langezaal B.V. The plant will process commercial and industrial waste into fuel for cement kilns. Also used car tyres will be processed in batches. This turn-key delivery of BMH comprises feeding equipment, primary crushing, metal separation, fines screening, air-classifying and secondary crushing as well as storage facilities for the ready processed materials.
BMH estimates that the sales of its waste processing and recycling machinery will continue the rapid growth in 2007, due to the new EU directives and rising waste handling costs. Also the demand in the new EU countries boosts the sales of recycling equipment.
