Maxxis – Big Tyres at 4×4 Show
Taiwan-based tyre manufacturer Maxxis believe they offer one of the UK’s most extensive ranges of off-road, all-purpose and road going 4×4 tyres, and the company chose this year’s British Indoor 4×4 Show, held at the Donington Exhibition Centre, Derby, on February 18, to showcase their range.
The annual show, which attracts off-road motorsport experts, spares suppliers and numerous specialists operating in the 4×4 market, proved to be a success for Maxxis. The company displayed a selection of tyres from its road/off-road range, most notably the 35 and 37-inch Creepy Crawler (M-8090). This massive tyre, suited to extreme off-road competition, features a reinforced square profile sidewall and chunky tread for controlled traction and grip in mud and snow.
Also to be found at the Maxxis stand were the road-going Marauder Series, Buckshot Mudder (MT-754), Bravo series and Bighorn Radial (MT-762). According to the company’s International UK tyre specialist Neil Gooch “There was a great deal of interest in our larger, more extreme off-road tyres.”
“The British Indoor 4×4 Show has just about everything the 4×4 enthusiast could want under one roof and provided us with the ideal environment in which to promote our 4×4 range,” he added. “Our rock crawling DVD proved to be a real crowd-puller – we were amazed at the number of people that flocked to the stand to find out what it was all about.
Gooch believes the exhibition enabled Maxxis to gain a large amount of useful consumer feedback, and he added that the tyremaker looks forward to developing its relationship with 4×4 enthusiasts.
In addition to their 4×4 selection Maxxis sells a wide range of motorcycle/scooter and ATV tyres in the UK, and recently the company signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Group Tyre (UK) Ltd, the UK’s leading independent wholesaler, for the distribution of Maxxis passenger car tyres.
