Latest Michelin Guide to GB and Ireland Released
The 2007 Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland was released in the last week of January. This year’s guide features 122 star-rated establishments, more than ever before. Thirteen new one-star restaurants and two new two-star establishments join the hallowed ranks of those the Michelin testers have blessed with star status, and the guide has singled out eight restaurants as one-star restaurants of the future, and one as being a candidate for two stars.
And those seeking a great dining experience for a reasonable price are also catered for, as it were. The Bib Gourmand symbol singles out restaurants offering three quality courses for less than £28. The Guide lists 17 new Bib Gourmand entries throughout Britain and Ireland.
The 2007 guide features 4,839 entries – 3,052 hotels and guesthouses and 1,787 restaurants and pubs. Every single one of these establishments are regularly inspected by Michelin’s own team of professional inspectors.
