Bowmur Technicians Receive Hand’s-on Training from Bridgestone
An eight-strong team of haulage technicians from Cannock-based distribution specialists Bowmur Haulage Ltd, are the latest recruits of a Roadside Breakdown course organised by Bridgestone UK’s Training Department. The hands-on training covers areas such as pre-breakdown planning, on-site risk assessment and how to carry out and complete repairs on a busy carriageway environment.
Delegates only pass the Bridgestone course once they have completed a series of practical assessments and a written knowledge exam. “The aim of the Roadside Breakdown course is to communicate best practice and make delegates more safety conscious,” said Phil Thirsk, training manager for Bridgestone UK. “Bridgestone is working in partnership with other tyre manufacturers and motoring bodies to improve the standard of training in this important area, and I’m sure the latest recruits will benefit from the knowledge and experiences they have shared.
“Bowmur Haulage Ltd is a long-standing customer of Bridgestone, and we’re delighted to continue working together and strengthen a relationship that dates back twenty years,” he added. Bowmur Haulage is affiliated to the Maersk shipping group as part of the company’s Pentalver Transport haulage arm.
