South China Tire Expands Production to 15 million units
South China Tire, producer of Sunny and Wanli branded tyres, is to expand capacity to around 15 million tyres a year with a new plant. The first phase of the new plant began production in September 2006, and offers additional production of two million tyres (the total capacity is six million tyres). The total project will take up till 2012 to complete, with a final annual capacity of around 15 million tyres.
The new factory is state-of-the-art equipped, with modern (VMI) machines and new technologies. South China Tire has been awarded certificates such as ISO 9001. Recently they embarked on a new co-operation with the well known test centre TÜV Germany/Hong Kong.
Regarding the new 2007 season, the size range of the high performance brands Wanli, Sunny and Fortuna will be widely extended. The Wanli range currently consists of more than 160 sizes in car, light truck, SUV, 4×4, winter and truck tyres.
In December last year, 12 sales staff from Belgian tyre distributor Deldo Autobanden paid a visit to the new factory of their partner South China Tire, in Guangzhou. Deldo has been the exclusive European distributor for the Wanli, Sunny and Fortuna brands since 2002. In 2006 Deldo achieved total sales of more than two million South China Tire-made tyres.
With its huge stock of around 2 million tyres in Antwerp and its strong logistics capabilities, Deldo can deliver both exclusive and premium brand tyres throughout Europe on a just-in-time basis.
