Sava Takes Scooter Tyres Seriously
Bike Tyrestore (BTS), a leading supplier of motorcycle and scooter tyres is looking to further expand its business and product range following the relocation of its call centre and headquarters. Tyres & Accessories caught up with joint managing director, Peter Smith, at the Stoneleigh Motorcycle tyre Expo and found out what’s different about BTS’ service and why he thinks the new Sava MC29 Sporty 3+ is the best scooter tyre there is.
For Peter Smith the exhibition was a “superb [chance] for us to meet up with so many happy Bike Tyrestore customers.” For Slovenian manufacturer Sava it was a good opportunity to publicise it presence and its range of scooter, motorcycle and ATV tyres. And from the outset it was clear that Sava’s MC29 Sporty 3+, reportedly the only scooter tyre produced in Europe, was the flagship product on this occasion.
‘Sticky rubber’
“We knew that Sava’s first appearance at a UK bike trade show was going to be a revelation for somebody. The surprise was that it was us who were left gasping with amazement at the huge amount of interest in the Slovenian manufacturer’s scooter, motorcycle and ATV tyres,” Peter Smith commented, adding:
“As one dealer said, ‘it’s great to see someone taking scooter tyres seriously at last.’ Now, in MC29 Sporty 3+ there is a superbike style tyre for high performance scoots and what’s more, they’re not expensive.”
During the course of the show well known motorcycle journalist Chris moss appeared on the stand to back up the results of his recent MC29 tyre test report, Bike Tyrestore printed on a glossy hand-out. According to BTS, several thousand copies had gone of the stand by the end of the Show.
Apart from recommendations from well-respected industry figures, Peter Smith reports that the Sava product quality is “outstanding” and scooter tyres such as the Sporty 3+ are “innovative, technically advanced and look just great.”
Welcome to the World of Bike Tyrestore
Following the success of the last release, Bike Tyrestore is planning to launch a new edition of its World of Bike Tyres DVD this year called: “What’s The Best Tyre For My Bike.” The free disc is seen as a major sales aid and this year will include a segment filmed inside a tyre factory and detailing what goes into the production of motorbike tyres. The film also includes a section on the importance of choosing the right tyres for the job.
The message Bike Tyrestore is trying to get out to tyre dealers and bike shops is that selling motorcycle tyres is a good way of earning extra revenue. And, according to Peter Smith, you don’t even need to stock the tyres if you take advantage of the Bike Tyrestore’s next day delivery service. Company representatives say they will help you to raise the profile of motorcycle and scooter tyre sales in your business.
Another part of the World of Bike Tyres community the company is trying to nurture is the “your on-line warehouse” system, which, when T&A spoke to BTS in mid January was about to go live at a couple of test sites.
The new virtual warehousing service requires registration but is free of charge. The system allows customers to look at stock and prices, check out “Hot Specials”, and place orders whenever it suits them.
According to BTS, Technophobes needn’t worry, the call centre will “most certainly” continue its freephone (0800 281413) number for those who prefer to speak to a real person. Anyone interested in finding more out about the electronic system is invited to email Bike Tyrestore on: sales@biketyrestore.com.
And finally BTS has announced that it is running a World Of Bike Tyres customer Track Day in May.
