Sapphire Sets Industry Service Delivery Standards
Sapphire Energy Recovery has launched a Service Charter for Sapphire regional collectors. Sapphire and its network of six regional collectors have all signed up to a Service Charter that outlines to new and existing customers, a level of service and commitment that tyre retailers can expect to receive.
Sales and marketing manager Ryan Mifflin said: “We are convinced it is sound business practice to identify customers, be responsible to their needs and to be open in our dealings with them. At the quarterly regional collectors forum in November, Sapphire presented the concept of a Service Charter which we felt would benefit both the collectors and customers. We were delighted to receive a unanimous agreement from the regional collectors at this month’s forum, having refined the levels of service to meet all their business needs.
The Service Charter provides a framework within which all our regional collectors can work together on national contracts but which will also give assurances to their customers of a service level that will put their business ahead of the competition. It covers four levels of service delivery, a guaranteed tyre count, guaranteed timed collections and tyre safes for secure storage if required. Each level of service has a different premium. Price is a key element but a level of service that is consistent and guaranteed is essential in the tyre recovery market. ”
The regional collectors have been working closely with Sapphire to ensure that the end of life tyre collection industry establishes a reputation for professionalism, integrity and service. All the collectors feed the used tyres into one of Sapphire’s six processing facilities, doing their part to ensure a sustainable long-term solution to disposing of this difficult waste.
Speaking on behalf of all the regional collectors Ken Plaster from DME Tyres said: “We view this initiative by Sapphire as an excellent means of establishing our credibility as competent collectors who are fully compliant with the legislation covering disposal of waste tyres, hold health and safety as a priority and who provide a fast, efficient and value for money service. An essential part of this service is the ability to provide choice to retailers on the level of service they need for their own businesses.”
