Kwik-Fit Fleet Warns of Run-Flat Costs / Kwik-Fit mobile grew 31% in 2006
Kwik-Fit Fleet, the fleet division of Britain and Europe’s largest independent fast-fit supplier, expects to see an increasing number of car and light commercial vehicle fleets use its network for service, maintenance MoT and repair work. Meanwhile, the fast-fit giant has warned fleet operators to brace themselves for an increase in tyre costs as more vehicle manufacturers choose to fit run-flat tyres to cars.
During 2006, Kwik-Fit Fleet saw business levels increase 15 per cent overall with Kwik-Fit Mobile, which operates a nationwide fleet of 200 vans, reporting 31 per cent growth.
During the year Kwik-Fit signed new contracts with a raft of companies including: Renault Business Finance, Pendragon Group (Pendragon Contracts, Bramall Contracts and Vardy Contract Motoring), MNH Vehicle Contracts and lease 360 evolution.
Mike Wise, who recently returned to head up the fleet division having left the company in the first half of 2006, said: “Last year we saw growth in all areas of our business – small, medium and large fleets and with contract hire and leasing and daily rental companies – but Kwik-Fit Mobile has been the star performer.”
Mr Wise said: ‘Duty of care will remain at the top of fleets’ agendas in 2007 and we expect to see that translate into an increasing number of organisations turning to Kwik-Fit Mobile for regular tyre health checks on vehicles in company car parks.”
Around 230 of Kwik-Fit’s nationwide network of 670 centres are now equipped to undertake interim and full services on all-makes of vehicles and 250 centres are capable of undertaking MoTs.
Mr Wise added: “An increasing number of fleets are recognising the opportunity for potential operating savings by putting their cars and light vans into fast-fits for service, maintenance and repair work as well as MoTs.”
