Firestone Names Young Farmer of the Year
This year’s Firestone Young Farmer of the Year Award has gone to 30-year old Cambridgeshire man James Peck. Peck, of Scotland Farm in Dry Drayton, received this distinction from the tyre maker at a ceremony held at the Grosvenor House in London late last year. He was awarded his trophy by BBC TV presenter Fiona Bruce and Barry Coleman, Firestone’s marketing manager.
Peck took over his father’s farming business less than four years ago, and has grown it steadily since then. He believes the secret to Scotland Farm’s success is a combination of the right equipment and recruiting motivated, reliable staff.
Speaking about the awards, Firestone’s Barry Coleman commented, “Firestone is once again very proud to sponsor the Young Farmer of the year award, and James is a deserving winner.”
