Conti Launches General Brand Winter Tyre
Continental Tire North America Inc. has released the first of an all-new winter tyre range under its General Tire brand. The range is known as Altimax and the initial tyre on offer, the Altimax Arctic, is being promoted as General Tire’s first true winter tyre.
The Altimax Arctic features an all-weather dual tread compound that provides good traction in the wet and high performance in cold weather. It also utilises the Quad Tech Technology unveiled on the Altimax Powerline at the 2006 SEMA show, designed to enhance performance and reduce road tyre noise.
The tyre is siped in a number of directions to improve traction, and the tread pattern, combined with the tyre’s central rib, facilitate the efficient removal of water.
The Q speed rated Altimax Arctic is available in 26 sizes between 13 and 17 inches. The Altimax Powerline range, which is comprised of the Altimax HP and Altimax RT, will be launched later this year.
