Conti Express Wish to Acquire Siemens Unit

Continental AG is interested in acquiring the VDO automotive unit of fellow German company Siemens AG, according to a company spokesman. He commented that the Siemens product portfolios ‘harmonise well,’ and added that Continental are available for talks should Siemens decide they wished to enter into such talks.

The spokesman told media that the ball was now in Siemens’ court, saying ‘we do not pressure anyone.’ However he did emphasise that Continental are in a position to perform larger acquisitions than this if so required.
