Apollo Launches First Radial Truck/Bus Tyres

(Akron/Tire Review) India’s Apollo Tyres Ltd. unveiled the first of its new Indian made Regal brand radial truck and bus tyres. The line was launched with the Regal Transport RS (steer axle) and the Regal Transport RD (drive axle) at the Bus World exposition taking place in Mumbai, India.

Apollo said the Regal brand is “globally renowned” and is “used extensively in the African continent, Europe, the United Kingdom and Australia.” The line will be produced by Apollo’s manufacturing units in South Africa and India.

Speaking at Bus World, Sunam Sarkar, Apollo’s chief of corporate strategy and marketing, said: “The Regal Transport RS and RD have been extensively tested in Indian conditions for the past six months and are clear leaders as one of the most efficient fuel-saving radial tyres in India. Given the rapid improvement of our road infrastructure and consistent growth in newer models of commercial vehicles, we are confident of the Transport’s performance and acceptability.”
