Taking the Heat – SureSeal from Tripoint

According to the manufacturer Tripoint’s SureSeal Rimless System is the highest temperature rubber seal on the market and is less expensive to use than competing products. Tests performed by Bergey’s Retread Technologies demonstrated SureSeal’s performance. “Tripoint’s SureSeal is lasting three times longer than the rubber seals we used previously, saving Bergey’s more than 30 per cent on replacement cost,” says Mike Ellinger, general manager for Bergey’s Retread Technologies.

“We’ve seen very little wear with SureSeal after a year’s hard use. With competing products, seal wear appears in a few months followed by improper sealing,” Ellinger points out. “It’s been a real benefit that SureSeal lasts so much longer. With SureSeal, we save on labour (to install new seals) and free up staff for other jobs. Tripoint’s rubber rings have performed flawlessly for more than a year and may last far longer.”

The SureSeal Rimless System features a seamless molded rubber interface that form fits the bead area of the tyre. The SureSeal rubber rings are sized to fit industry standard metal rings and are designed to be compatible in both low and high temperature systems. The rubber interface and integrated J-hook saddle extend envelope life and protect it from premature failure caused by pinching.

“In today’s global markets higher temperature systems with shorter cycle times is a competitive requirement to lower cure cost. Considering the results at Bergey’s, we think SureSeal’s performance in high temperature systems will give retreading companies an edge they need to compete globally. Due to demand we have recently added new 19.5 and 24.5-inch sizes to our popular 22.5-inch option,” says Barry Presti, president of Tripoint LLC.
