Strikers Take Protests to Retail Outlets
Striking USW workers have stepped up their conflict with Goodyear in North America by staging demonstrations outside the premises of retailers selling the company’s products.
The demonstration took place at two Levin Tire Centre outlets in Indiana as part of the USW’s National Action Day, designed to “educate the public about the ongoing labour dispute at fifteen North American Goodyear plants”.
The long running dispute between the USW workers and Goodyear seems set to escalate throughout the holiday period, with the union vowing to escalate its public campaign for a more favourable union contract with Goodyear.
Dale Andres, manager of the Levin Tire Center in Highland Indiana said that he was not able to provide any comment on the situation. sg
