Police Cut Up About Tyre Vandals
Police in Colbert County, Alabama look set to become much better acquainted with their local tyre supplier after vandals destroyed the tyres on all but one of their patrol cars. A total of ten tyres were slashed on three of the department’s four vehicles, rendering the department unable to carry out its regular duties.
The Leighton Police Department had only recently implemented a policy forbidding officers to drive their patrol vehicles to and from work, a measure intended to alleviate pressure on the cash-strapped department’s budget. Unfortunately the sight of four police vehicles left unattended overnight proved irresistible to the county’s less law abiding citizens, and now Leighton Police find themselves stuck with a $1500 tyre bill they can ill afford.
The Leighton Police are offering a reward, so if you have any information about this crime, please give police chief Garrett a call.
