Hankook Signs Audi China Deal

South Korean tyremaking giant Hankook have announced details of an agreement to supply its tyres to Audi as of mid 2007. The agreement signed with the German manufacturer will see Hankook’s high performance Ventus S1 Evo tyres fitted to the Chinese market Audi A4 and A6L, the long wheelbase version of the A6 starting in June.

Approximately 90,000 16 and 17 inch tyres will be supplied to Audi’s Chinese plant in 2007. The Executive Vice President/Head of Hankook Tyre China Jin Wook Choi referred to the agreement as “a significant turning point for us since it marks the beginning of Hankook Tyre’s foray into the high-end automobile market.” Hankook tyre has stated its intention to further focus upon supplying premium cars.
