Trelleborg Launches Tallest Agri-tyre Ever
Trelleborg Wheel Systems has launched the TM900 High Power (710 75R42), the tallest tyre on record according to the manufacturer. The new pneumatic tyre will be on-show during international exhibitions, starting with EIMA, which is going to be held in Italy – Bologna, from 15 – 19 November. Co-designed with leading tractor manufacturers, the TM900HP 710/75R42, Trelleborg says the new tyre has been specifically developed to fit tractors with up to 300 horsepower or which require high load capacity.
The tyre’s load capacity is 175D-172E or 6900 kilos at 65 km/h. Trelleborg reports that the new TM900, thanks to its design and dimensional characteristics, produces greater traction than the same size in 70-series, despite having a 75 series aspect ration.
In addition using the TM900 High Power range is said to result in shorter working times and consequently better productivity. Company research shows that the 710/75R42 TM900 High Power cuts ploughing times by 30 per cent compared to size 710/70R42.
Improved rolling resistance is another feature on offer and this results in better fuel consumption. According to Trelleborg in a comparison test in on-road conditions, fuel consumption was far lower with the Trelleborg tyre with as much as two litres less fuel per hour at 50 km/h (1.5 l/h at test speed 35 km/h). This equates to savings of up to 6000 euros by the end of the working life of the tyre (5000 euros at 35km/h).
