New Vice Presidents Named at BEN
Motor industry figures, Freddie Aldous, Honorary Life President of the BVRLA, and Sarah Sillars, Chief Executive of the IMI have been elected by BEN’s Board of Trustees as Vice Presidents for the financial year 2006/2007. BEN’s Chief Executive, Gerard Barclay, was delighted to announce these appointments stating: “Whilst last year was successful financially for BEN, the first 6 months of this financial year are proving more challenging. I am therefore delighted that we have enlisted the support of two such eminent individuals from different sectors of our industry and I feel this goes to show the breadth of support that could be available for BEN.”
Freddie Aldous holds the esteemed position of Honorary Life President with the BVRLA and prior to retirement held various board appointments within the motor industry including National Car Rental, Swan National Leasing, UDT Limited, and TSB Commercial Holdings and Chairman of EuroDollar Holdings plc.
Chief Executive of the IMI since 2002, Sarah Sillars continues to spearhead a concerted campaign for recognition of skilled individuals across the automotive sector. Under her stewardship, the IMI was the driving force for the introduction of the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) scheme last year.
These appointments come at a time when BEN has had to adapt and change to achieve a more stable position, like the industries it represents.
