Bucking The Trend – Tym International
Tym International is based in Kings Lynn Norfolk and proudly boasts that it is one company that has bucked the trend in the last four years by continually improving sales of truck tyres by an average of 32 per cent. This year the company says that Triangle brand sales are already up 100 per cent on 2005.
Tym (formally Motokov UK) was always renowned for a fast and effective delivery service to wholesalers throughout the UK of passenger and light truck tyres from Matador. When Matador joined forces with Continental tyres, producing a full range of truck tyres in 1998, the company realised this was the opportunity to diversify part of the business into high quality truck tyres that could be sold on name, reputation and quality.
The Matador portfolio starts from the 205/75 R17.5 though to 385/65 R22.5. The company produces three patterns in most sizes in both Drive and Steer to meet the needs of all customers. Matador also produces crossply tyres in all popular sizes from 900×20 to 1400×24 24ply.
Four years ago Tym International was invited by the Triangle Tyre Corporation in China to discuss importing the full truck tyre range. This has added a further string to the bow of Tym with now a top range Matador truck tyre being complemented by the economically priced Triangle tyre. Like Matador, Triangle’s range is comprehensive, meeting the needs of the UK user. Triangle recently invited Tym’s Steve Eke to view the new factory in China that will further enhance the company’s image and increase the supply to the UK. Tym is the only UK company to sign a three-year agreement for 2007, 2008 and 2009. Steve informed Tyres and Accessories that “We at Tym International are continually impressed with the level of commitment Triangle has shown and, with that and the depth of knowledge they have about their products, it is no surprise that the company, indeed the whole of the Chinese economy, is thriving the way it is.”
Tym does not merely meet the need of those customers seeking container or large quantity deliveries; the company is now linked with Pallet Force to offer a next day or three-day service for an order of only eight tyres.
