Bridgestone Supports Children in Need
Bridgestone UK has donated a set of tyres for a charity auction in aid of Children in Need. The rubber contributed to a total of more than £12,000 towards this year’s appeal after they were sold under the hammer by BBC Worldwide Magazines Production department.
A set of tyres was one of several items BBC staff were tasked with obtaining free of charge as part of a fun challenge at a recent team-building away day. Bridgestone stepped in to help, pledging to supply tyres to fit any UK car to the highest bidder. That turned out to be Paul Sherfield, from Hertfordshire, who bid £600 at the auction for a set of Potenza RE040s for his Honda Civic Type R.
Children in Need 2006 officially kicks off on 17 November with an evening of fun and frolics broadcast live on BBC1.
