BFGoodrich’s SEMA Exhibits
(Las Vegas/Tire Review) Michelin North America’s BFGoodrich tyre group will be extra busy at this year’s SEMA Show, offering everything from celebrities and show cars to a TV show appearance at the Overhaulin’ display. The BFGoodrich Tires booth at SEMA will host top personalities from action sports, competitive drifting and rockcrawling as they sign autographs for fans, while a wide-range of specialty vehicles will be on display.
“The SEMA show is always an event that we look forward to every year because it provides a great showcase for BFGoodrich,” said Kaz Holley, brand director for BFGoodrich Tires. “Featuring some of the best talent in the world of motorsports, the hottest vehicles around and our presence at Overhaulin’, BFGoodrich will be the hottest brand at SEMA 2006.”
BFGoodrich is hosting supercross, motocross and newly-crowned X Games rally champion Travis Pastrana. Pastrana, a 19-year veteran on the motorcycle, is one of the most well-known athletes in the world of action sports for his tremendous success at the Gravity Games, Dew Action Sports Tour and X Games, where he has taken home four gold medals in freestyle motocross. Following a dramatic win in rally racing at the X Games this past summer in his open class Subaru Rally Team USA 2006 Impreza WRX STI, Pastrana has shifted gears to focus more on rally and off-road racing.
Drifting champion Samuel Hübinette, who recently clinched the Formula Drift series title, will also be at the BFGoodrich booth. Hübinette, dubbed “The Crazy Swede,” is well-known for his outgoing personality and domination in a Dodge Mopar Viper, which helped Hubinette take home a third Formula D title in four years.
Members of Team BFGoodrich at this year’s Baja 1000 – Kenny Bartram, Bud Brutsman and Tracy Jordan – will also be at the BFGoodrich booth. Jordan, a champion rock crawler who took the 2004 and 2005 UROC SuperCrawl title, will brave the terrain of Baja for a second time, while Bartram, a Stillwater, Oklahoma-native who has gained a reputation as one of the best freestyle riders in the world, is a Baja 1000 rookie. Brutsman, creator and executive producer of “Overhaulin’” “Rides” and “Payback,” is driving in the Baja 1000 for the second consecutive year.
Making appearances at the BFGoodrich booth during SEMA week will be a number of new and vintage rides, all sporting BFGoodrich rubber. The lineup will feature a1969 Mach I Mustang, 1970 Dodge Challenger and1956 Ford F100 pickup, all on BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW tyres. In addition, many current model vehicles will be on display, including a 2007 Chevy Avalanche on BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires, 2006 Ford Mustang on BFGoodrich g-Force T/A R-1 tires, 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser on BFGoodrich Baja T/A tyres, and a 2006 Jeep Wrangler on BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM tyres.
BFGoodrich will be the official sponsor of the Overhaulin’ set again this year. Outside the set, BFGoodrich will display three hot vehicles, including the Chip Foose-built 1970 Pontiac GTO and 1967 Dodge A 100 Truck and Chris Jacobs 1967 Dodge Coronet, all featuring BFGoodrich g-Force T/AKDW tyres.
