ATS and Michelin Win Global Brands Fleet
Chesterfield-based independent drinks company Global Brands Ltd has adopted a joint ATS Euromaster and Michelin tyre policy across its fleet of 61 company cars and 24 commercial vehicles, replacing an agreement with a local independent tyre dealer. ATS Euromaster was appointed for its ability to provide a professional tyre management service for the company’s van and truck fleet, coupled with its expertise as one of the country’s largest fast-fit networks for the car market.
Alison Morrison, Commercial Director of Global Brands, explains: “Appointing ATS Euromaster means our commercial vehicles benefit from six-weekly tyre inspections backed up by a comprehensive reporting structure, allowing us to closely monitor tyre wear and performance.”
As part of the new agreement, ATS Euromaster and Michelin conducted a thorough appraisal of all vans and trucks in the fleet, which range from 3.5 tonne panel vans to maximum weight tractors & trailers, and have made a number of adjustments to recommended tyre pressures and fitment policies.
“The aim is to cut our annual fuel spend by eliminating unnecessary rolling resistance across our commercial vehicle fleet through a sustained project of professional tyre management. Even a small improvement in economy can make a big difference across a period of 12 months,” she adds.
The contract will be supported by the ATS Euromaster centre in Chesterfield, where the company’s commercial vehicle fleet and a number of company cars are based. The remaining company cars, which are spread across the UK, will be serviced by their local ATS Euromaster branch.
Global Brands’ commercial vehicles will also have access to ATS Euromaster’s nationwide fleet of 1,300 mobile service vans, which are able to provide emergency roadside assistance should a van or truck suffer a tyre-related breakdown at the roadside.
Global Brands manufactures ‘VK Vodka Kick’, a range of pre-mixed fruity vodka drinks as well as importing and selling beers from around the world. The company sells over 3.5 million bottles of VK each week in the UK, as well as exporting to over 30 countries worldwide.
