Tyrespot Wins RMA Green Dealer Award
Tyrespot Ltd has confirmed its credentials as an environmentally-friendly company by scooping the inaugural Green Dealer Award presented by the Retread Manufacturers Association (RMA). The Award was presented to Tyrespot managing director John Shaw by RMA director David Wilson at the Rubber Industry Dinner held at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in Solihull on 29 September.
The Green Dealer of the Year Award is a new award introduced by the RMA to recognise tyre dealers who have been particularly supportive to the retreading industry and who continue to market passenger retreaded tyres both actively and successfully.
Tyrespot has supported the retreading industry for many years in the North East of England and MD John Shaw has been outspoken in his support of the industry on many occasions, particularly emphasising the environmentally-friendly nature of retreaded tyres. The company continues to positively promote a full range of retreads through the company’s retail and wholesale operations and continues to be one of the country’s largest dealers of retreaded tyres.
Also commended for their support of the retreading industry were fellow Green Dealer nominees Sowden Tyres of Bradford and Tyres Direct (Mitcham)
In presenting the award RMA Director David Wilson commented; “All three of the nominees for the inaugural RMA Green Dealer Award would have would be worthy winners and we thank them all for their continued support of the retreading industry.
“Retreaded tyres are particularly green, not least because their manufacture requires over 4 gallons less oil than a new tyre but also because every retreaded tyre means one less new tyre and a reduction in the mountain of scrap tyres that the country has to deal with on an ongoing basis. Tyrespot have been long-time supporters of the retreading industry and we congratulate John Shaw and his colleagues for their success in winning this award”.
