Pirelli And Aston Martin Win Again
In the USA, the Aston Martin DBR9s on their Pirelli P Zero Racing tyres have won another round in the 2006 American Le Mans Series. Sarrazin-Lamy won the last race of the season at Laguna Seca, dominating the Californian event almost non-stop for the four hours of its duration. The winning DBR9-Pirelli also started from pole position, a feat the Aston Martins achieved no fewer than seven times in the season’s 10 races that comprised the 2006 American Le Mans Series.
Stéphane Sarrazin, who turned in a perfect race and set the fastest lap in practice, said, “I am extremely pleased with the P Zero Racing tyres that Pirelli Competizioni supplied us with here in California. We did not experience a single problem in either qualifying or the race: the tyres were excellent; especially their grip on a track that was made very slippery by the sand that completely covered the asphalt. This victory in such a prestigious race and at one of the most important circuits in America confirms the outstanding work carried out in synergy with the Aston Martin technicians and the Pirelli engineers”.
