PCL’s Accura Inflator Gains PTB Approval
The PCL Accura 1 inflator, launched at this year’s Automechanika, has passed the compulsory German test for digital inflation equipment. The PTB (Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt), sets standards for all gauge, calibration and metrology products used in Germany and only those which pass its rigorous tests for accuracy, safety and reliability are legally authorised for use.
When products have officially passed the rigorous PTB tests, all those to be used must be individually tested against the set PTB standard, then approved, marked and regularly checked on site by the gauging office, the German Eichamt.
Accura 1’s PTB approval 18.08/06.04, demonstrates its high performance across the full pressure range, at elevated and sub-zero temperatures and in high humidity. It has passed testing of EMC emission and immunity and endured cyclical testing under dynamic pressure actuations, including shock impulse. PCL’s other electronic products have also been passed by the PTB for use in Germany, including the Accura D10 (18.08/04.01), Accura A10 (18.08/04.03) and Accura 11 and 12 (18.08/04.02).
Other products new to PCL’s portfolio and successfully launched at Automechanika include the AirForce mechanical dial type tyre inflator. This is also tested and approved under the EC Directive 86/21.
