MAM Introduces Autocat+ v2.0
MAM Software has introduced Autocat+ v2.0, the next major release of its electronic parts cataloguing software for motor factors, accessory retailers and parts distributors. This introduces a number of significant enhancements to the application and further extends its functionality. “This release contains features that many of our customers will find extremely valuable” explained Lee Broad, MAM’s Director of Technical Development.
The new release features a host of new developments that offer customisable product groups, enhanced image comparisons, improved supplier maintenance and configurable parameters.
With the introduction of customisable product- and sub-groups, users can now tailor Autocat+ to their own individual product profiles. Not only can groups be reordered and removed, new groups can be created and sub-groups assigned. This can significantly simplify the selection process, enabling products to be identified more quickly.
This latest version of Autocat+ continues to make significant steps towards ‘first-time-fit’ by improving upon its existing image comparison functionality. Users can now visually compare over 80,000 products – including exhausts – whilst also viewing notes provided by the supplier.
Autocat’s new supplier management routines make it even easier to specify first- and second-line suppliers for multiple product groups. Preferences can be automatically copied across an entire supplier’s range quickly and simply. Furthermore, when products cannot be sourced from preferred suppliers, Autocat+ can now instantly suggest sources outside the favoured list.
A number of new user-defined parameters have been introduced in this latest release. For example, Autocat’s useful notes facility, which enables valuable product information to be shared between catalogue users, now includes an option to print on invoices.
“Autocat+ v2.0 provides important new customisation capabilities and improved identification routines” concluded Broad. “The new developments in Autocat+ v2.0 streamline the selection process and helps our users make significant inroads towards attaining first-time-fit”.
MAM also announced a number of forthcoming features which are planned for Autocat+ v2.1. These include engine code matching, integrated links to fit times and service schedules and integrated links to suppliers’ online technical information bulletins. Version 2.1 is currently under development and is expected to be released later this year.
